Position Summary:
Experience
* 5+ years technical experience with all phases of networking design, implementation, installation and maintenance
* Experience with internetworking WAN and LAN environments, and Cisco hardware and software operating systems and data communications techniques.
* Broad knowledge of network Cisco hardware and software, network infrastructure and design, and topologies and protocols
* Good analytical and decision making skills and sound judgment
* Ability to work effectively with client and IT management, staff and vendors
Knowledge and Skills Required
* Strong communication skills, written and oral.
* Solid project management skills
* Proficient with the use of a PC and its applications (e.g., MS Office
* Competency in the following WAN/LAN and legacy protocols and networking technologies
o MPLS, ATM, ISDN Dial, Broadband and TDM
o TCPIP, RIP, DLSW, EIGRP, OSPF
o SNA/SDLC A
o [Hardware types]: Cisco Switches, Bridges, and Routers. Gateways, Communication Controllers, Modems, DSU/CSU"s.
o [Test equipment]: Datascope, Firebird, Sniffer and T-1 Analyzers
o [Operating systems]: UNIX/AIX/NT/OS390 based systems, including the following components: DNS, WINS, NFS., Firewalls and traffic filtering (ACL) and Netview (NPDA etc.)
* Knowledge with Firewalls and security infrastructure
* Knowledge of Internet based technologies and protocols.
