JOB TITLE                           :  NETWORK ENGINEER, NETWORK (PENANG)

REPORTING TO                   :  TECHNICAL MANAGER, NETWORK

This is a permanent position so they prefer Malaysian

PURPOSE

The Network Engineer for Network Solution Business is responsible to provide pre-sales and post-sales functions rel at ed to Network infrastructure up to Service Provider or Telco solutions for sales team.  Work on a daily basis with customers (internal and external) or business partners to provide consult at ion, install at ion, commissioning, fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance service on most range of networking, system and peripheral products.  To become familiar with various diagnostic tools and utilities used in network and system support and maintenance.

Principle Accountabilities:

1.    To provide pre sales consult at ion services to sales team particularly in System Integr at ion and network convergence solutions rel at ed to Telco, network infrastructure, network security and Network management.

2.    To work independently in preparing all types of document at ion, including proposal, technical consult at ion and present at ion necessary to assist the sales team in proposing any network infrastructure solution.

3.    To work independently in preparing prototype and demo of networking solutions to potential customers.

4.    Liaise with overseas for additional inform at ion as and when necessary.

5.    Feedback inform at ion on sales opportunities to his/her manager for follow-up by sales team.

6.    To advise and guide customers on general environment condition, site prepar at ion and ensure th at customers’ requirements are adhered to.

7.    Continue to evalu at e new products and to upd at e manager / sales team in the competitive inform at ion or potential market for such products.

8.    Liaise with Business Partners or vendors to obtain inform at ion and pricing of networking and telecommunic at ions products.

9.    Acts as a Project Leader or Project Manager in any assigned project, as well as to plan and oversee the delivery of projects to ensure th at the projects are delivered as planned.

10. From time to time, with manager’s approval, at tend seminars for products and technology upd at e.

11. Identify causes of equipment (particularly Cisco) breakdown utilizing test equipment and diagnostic aids, and take remedial action.

12. Undertake install at ion of new equipment and enhancement of existing equipment.

13. To ensure all test equipment, diagnostic programs and relevant technical inform at ion are oper at ional and up-to-d at e.

14. Identify through the use of diagnostics tools, areas of known error problems and advise seniors of unfamiliar problems receive prompt at tention.

15. Maintain regular contact with customer oper at ions staff and ensure th at problem areas are identified and agreed and action plans produced and implemented in order to avoid adverse customer reactions.

16. Maintain contact with customers’ oper at ions staff and ensure actual or potential problem areas are identified to his/her manager.

17. To provide and guide customers via teleservice for any urgent service request.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

·         Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or rel at ed fields with 5 years rel at ed working experience.

·         Must possess CCNP or higher certific at ion.

·         Strong networking experiences in administr at ion and configur at ion including TCP/IP, Routing protocols.

·         Must be experienced in managing network devices, eg. Routers, Core, Switches and Firewall.

·         Strong knowledge in WAN and LAN design, implement at ion and Management.

·         Preferably with some networking server experience, eg. DNS, DCHP and WINS.

·         Able to work with minimum supervision, team player, m at ured, self-motiv at ed, with good interpersonal and communic at ion skills.

·         Strong problem solving, negoti at ion and analytical skills.
