Job Description:

Service Deployment and Operations (SDO) is an integral part of User Experience IT division within Microsoft IT. SDO is responsible for Managing the IT Infrastructure which is one of the world"s largest enterprise having around 28K+ servers worldwide hosted across different DC"s .
We are looking for a technically savvy and operationally disciplined Problem Manager. This position requires a very smart, highly motivated, hands-on manager with a strong SQL and Windows platform operations background, in a fast paced, highly technical environment.
As a Problem Manager you will be providing and technical leadership across Problem Management, SQL and Core OS services and also support the Problem Analysts staff during the crisis times and be part of the technical / Management calls representing the services that are owned. This role requires management or leadership skills in order to understand key operational deliveries, manage stakeholder expectations, understand rhythm of business, partner with Process units and internal peer organizations within User experience IT to ensure consistent and predictable service delivery to the users.

Roles & Responsibilities
â— Proactive identification of problems in the IT infrastructure and working towards their resolution
* Trend incidents and analyze opportunities for incident reduction, process improvements and driving efficiencies where possible.
* Be able to run small to medium size efficiency projects (Six Sigma) within the team cutting across technical silos.
* Think creatively on areas where the Problem management effort can be focused for the business.
* Promotes proactive and cooperative relationships with other operations analysts, implementation teams, tier 3 groups, infrastructure system managers, as well as IT managers and MS development team members.
* Accountable to global mid and high level managers, as well corporate users and data center clients.
* Ability to demonstrate strong planning, organizing and coordinating skills by efficiently developing and implementing plans to accomplish goals.
* Strong analysis and problem resolution skills and ability to develop and implement creative solutions
* Demonstrated ability to thrive in complex environments and ability to work under continual deadline constraints
* Demonstrated ability to manage through others.
* Confidence in self and organization, and a "can-do" attitude in the face of change and ambiguity
* Strong attention to detail, ability to see the big picture and analytical skills are required


Desired Competencies and Characteristics:
* 8 + years of experience working in an infrastructure operations and having at least 4 years of relevant job experience as Problem Manager.
* Candidate is required to have 4 to 7 years of experience and specialized knowledge in support enterprise data-center deployment of Microsoft SQL Server platform, Microsoft Windows operating system (WS2003/2008), Microsoft Internet Information Services, NLBS clustering technology, SQL programming, SQL high-availability setup and maintenance, physical database design, and SQL Performance tuning.
* Relevant work experience in deploying, managing enterprise SQL server platform, client-server technologies, web application design, web server configuration, network load balancing configuration
* Knowledge on Windows server and networking technologies.
* Any industry certifications ITIL , MCSE, CCNA and Green belt certified are preferred.
* Strong leadership skills, Ability to influence without authority, ability to resolve cross-group problems and conflicts, excellent presentation and communication skills, strong process improvement skills, excellent interpersonal skills, strong ability to understand complex systems and interfaces.
