Senior / Systems Analyst

Job Purpose


  • To be part of the IS WCS (Information Services - Web & Corporate Services) team which develops and supports the sales system for StarHub Shops, Customer Services Centres, Roadshows and Exclusive Partners (EP) for Consumer Sales & Channel Partners.
  • Support POS System Administrator in weekly price update, loading of cards and promotions for StarHub Shops, roadshows and EP,
  • Support Finance users in Inventory and Collection reconciliation.
  • Support bill/deposit payment enquiries from Customer Service Centres and Call Centres.
  • Propose and implement quick POS solutions to meet Marketing strategies and promotions.
  • Gather requirements, design, develop, test and implement effective POS solutions for Shops,Roadshows & EP Sales.
  • Support POS system, ETMS (Electronic Time Management System) and Salesforce.com.

 

Responsibilities


  • To gather and analyze user requirements, design, develop, test and implement solutions for POS & Sales projects.
  • To provide user operational support and ensure full availability of mission critical POS system during shop and road show operating hours.
  • To manage vendors for outsourced projects and provide technical consultancy.
  • To support POS transactions interfaces to Siebel, Billing, SAP, Data Warehouse, Ideal Sales Order, Ops Reporting and external interfaces to NETS / Credit Cards terminal.
  • Work closely with business users to ensure that functionality in the supported systems is used in the correct manner, and adequate processes are in place to handle issues reported by the users.
  • Be highly responsive to the dynamic nature of the business environment and to quickly react against any critical issues related to the supported systems at all times.
  • Proactively implement solutions and processes to reduce the number of support calls.
  • Ensure operational health of the systems by resolving escalated problems and performing application fine-tuning and system performance improvement activities.
  • Keep Systems Operations and Training documentation up-to-date & conduct training to users.
  • Troubleshoot, investigate, resolve incidents and fix defects promptly.
  • Support of application processing (monitoring back end jobs and attending to alerts)
  • Participate in planning and revenue assurance activities such as systems reconciliation and disaster recovery.
  • Adopt good industry practices and adherence to IS Policies and Standards, SDLC & ITIL.
  • Able to propose and implement new solutions to support rapid business changes.
  • Able to support 24 x 7 on call / standby.

 

Requirements


  • Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 4 years of IT working experience.
  • Certification in Java, J2EE, .NET, Web Logic and Cloud Computing will be an added advantage.
  • Min. 3 years of practical and implementation experience in Java/Web-based POS and Salesforce.com applications.
  • Core competency in UNIX, Oracle 10g, PL/SQL, Crystal Reports 2008, Bea Web Logic 9.2/10, Apex programming (Salesforce.com) and usage of JBuilder Enterprise.
  • Strong requirement gathering, analysis, design, testing, vendor & project management skills.
  • Strong in Java – Core Java, J2EE components: EJB (2.1 / 3.0), Servlets, JSP, JSF, JMS, Swings, Java Script and XSLT.
  • Experience in the implementation of Spring / Struts / Hibernate frameworks.
  • Experience in building and implementation of mobile apps for IOS/Android/WinMo is an added advantage.
  • Experience with managing POS projects and support shops and road shows operations.
  • Experience with application development using Oracle, Java, Web and UNIX are preferred.
  • Excellent communication & written skills.
  • Willing to work on weekends and after office hours to support shop, EP & road show operations.
  • Diligent, highly motivated and positive working attitude.
  • A team player as well as able to work independently.
