The Amsterdam office manages the services and marketing for our European markets and the offices in Kuala Lumpur and Hanoi serve markets in the Asia Pacific Region, Africa and the Middle East.   The Kuala Lumpur office is also the center of all our IT development and operational activities.   Sam Media's back-end IT systems are developed in PHP and run under the Linux Operating System. Our front-end technologies include HTML, JQuery and Flash. The major development domains that the IT Development Team focuses on are 3rd party API interfaces, database, statistics and reporting, marketing, mobile internet, payments and front-end.   Almost all of our IT systems have been developed in-house and are currently undergoing a major refactoring effort. The main goals of our refactoring effort are to ensure that we use standardized and future-proof IT systems globally and that the Quality of the code is world class, encased in an MVC framework, self-documenting and using continuous integration and build automation.   For our office in Kuala Lumpur we are looking for a:   Senior PHP Developer Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) - Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur Responsibilities: As a Senior PHP Developer, you will be spending approximately 25% of your time on refactoring activities and 75% on other development activities. Specific areas you will be working on:   Web application development using SCRUM. Objectifying and MVC-ifying our legacy codebase. Continuous integration and build. Automated testing and unit tests. Enhancing our reporting and data collection efforts.   Requirements: Exceptional coding talent, preferably in PHP Good knowledge of design patterns and object oriented programming Mature person – This is not a junior role ! Experience with refactoring of large legacy codebases Very familiar with SCRUM. Experience as a Scrum master is an advantage Highly enthusiastic about agile development Experience with Linux Good communicator in the English language Team worker who thrives in an international and culturally diverse environment.   Our recruitment process is designed to ensure that we find the best talent possible for our positions and secondly, that there is a good cultural fit in all aspects between company and potential employee.   The recruitment process consists of the following steps: Once you submit your application, you will receive a talent test which you can complete at your convenience.
