Please find below the job description for System Admin Designation: Senior System Administrator We are not looking for only sys admin person. We need someone who loves to automate and can demonstrate ability in scripting. Candidate will be working on exciting projects and will be escalation point for L1 / L2 level support Requirements 1. Linux system admin experience 2. Shell scripting is a must 3. PHP knowledge is a major plus. 4. Willingness to learn is critical 5. Linux kernel level understanding 6. Apache , DNS , Networking knowledge 7. good understanding of system languages (C / C ++) is major plus Desirable 1. Involvement in open source code is a plus 2. Well versed with open source code base (Apache / haproxy / memcache) 3. Should have deep understanding of TCP / IP and network stack implementation details on Linux 4. Background in large scale system engineering / administration 6-9 years of system admin. Willing to work in rotating night shifts. Hands on experience with Linux (Redhat or CentOS) Hands on experience in managing day to day activities large scale infrastructures,Excellent experience with Apache web servers. DNS, Package management, backup, rsync , ssh , email Understanding of Proxy and load balancers Excellent hands on with shell scripts Hands on experience with cisco appliances (Cisco switch stack, Cisco firewalls (ASA / PIX)) Worked with various monitoring softwares (Nagios, zabbix, custom scripts) Must be willing to take charge and learn new technologies Good to Have * Experience with virtualization using VmWare & Xen. * Experience with software based load balancers (HaProxy) * Experience with cache servers - Varnish * Knowledge of different SAN Storage appliances. Netapp and its various features preferred * Different monitoring systems (Nagios, Zabbix) * As Linux Administrator, configuration & management for all (500) Linux Servers located at USA data centre (Colo serve/Rackspace/Amazon), and as well as Cluster Cloud Servers hosted at Amazon, Colo Serve, Go-Grid Cloud and Rackspace cloud and hosting data centre.
