Role: Unix Administrator L3/L4
Job Location: Bangalore/ Chennai
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Manage the IT infrastructure of the customer consisting of various flavors of UNIX and core infrastructure services like Cluster, DNS/NIS, NFS etc
Manage UNIX Service Delivery as per the agreed contractual terms to meet/exceed the agreed service levels.
Ensure the service delivery under the ITSM framework Incident/ problem/ change management
Analysis of the environment and perform root cause analysis for identified problems etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Event Monitoring and Detection of Hardware/OS
User/Group Account Management Create, Modify, Delete, Disable, Password Reset
File Permissions Handling /Disk quotas
Ensuring Systems are updated with all recent patches and latest antivirus signatures.
Ensuring all server data backups are successful and restore data on the need basis.
Assist and liaise with Third Party suppliers as and when required
Prepare/fill daily checklist and Shift handover checklist, and transition of pending tasks to next take over engineer
Raise / review / Monitor changes requests as appropriate.
Create and maintain all (ITSM) process management documentation as required.
Assist and liaise with Third Party suppliers as and when required
Proactively review incident trends and report recurring issues to Problem Management
Escalation of problems in a timely manner as per the escalation matrix
Implementation/Maintenance of Clusters Eg: MC Service guard cluster /SUN /Veritas cluster.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma/ or Any Graduate/Post graduate
DESIRED SKILL SET:
5-12 years of working experience and at least 5+ years on UNIX system administration.
Bachelors degree in engineering, or 12th + three year Diploma (University recognized) will be considered in exceptional cases
Certifications HP CSA, SUN Solaris, AIX, RHCE are highly preferred.
Certifications can be compromised provided candidate is having good technical/process knowledge.
Interpersonal sensitivity and customer responsiveness with very good spoken and written communication skills
Ability to communicate complex technical contents.
ITIL trained/certified
Good communication skills with English fluency
