Skills: Linux-L3 Support

Exp: 5 to 9 yrs

Work location: Chennai

JD:

Experienced 80% technical, 20% project management or coordination skilled person to work in turbulent business environment. Capable to move
24x7x365 high availability internet applications from R&D to Production. Will report to Transition Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute and document deployment projects to deliver pre-production and production environment (servers, applications and tools) including
major configuration changes
- Review the solution requirements & documentation
- Establish connectivity, configure application servers, validate end to end solution
- Ensure smooth handoff to operations group through training and documentation
- Proactively raise flag when issues/request are preventing the delivery dates to be met, need support on dependencies

ITIL v3 Foundations certification preferred
- Experience in managing small to medium size project
- Strong command of the English language
- Possess over 5 years of experience in a similar job with hands-on knowledge of Unix-like environments (preferable Red Hat Enterprice Linux,
CentOS, Debian or Solaris in clustered environments)
- Expertise in web technologies including apache, php, tomcat, jboss, nagios, puppet
- Experience with system / network architecture, troubleshooting and script programming
- Excellent communication skills, experience in dealing with customer issues under time pressure
- Experience working in virtual teams, including proven ability to interface with developers, testers and systems administrators
- Experience with mobile networks and wireless protocols
- Experience with large, high availability, 24x7x365 deployments in a telecommunications environment
- Experience with systems monitoring and deployment tools such as Nagios, Satellite Server, Puppet
- Strong scripting/automation skills in perl, shell, or python (other languages are a plus)
- Familiar with RDBMS such as Oracle, MySQL, Postgres
- Experience in routing and internet protocols, LAN/WAN technologies, VPN, Firewall, Security, load balancing
- Strong background in methodical troubleshooting and problem solving
- Readiness for stay on-call / shift work.
