| Job Description: Xilinx is looking for a talented  individual to join the Communications and Signal Processing Group (CSPG) in the position of Staff Design Engineer. The successful candidate will  work as part of a team developing FPGA-based intellectual property to address  state-of-the-art wireless communication systems' (e.g. 3G LTE, and 4G networks  in general) requirements.  This is a 'hands-on' R&D position and it is  expected that the candidate will have a passion for working with digital-RF and  baseband technologies, coding in C/C++, Matlab, HDL, scripting languages such  as perl, and for test and verification strategies and processes. It would be  desirable for applicants to have experience with wireless and signal processing  technologies, FPGA architecture and design, EDA design processes and using a  metric driven approach as a key part of the development cycle. It is expected  that the individual will have a passion for continuously seeking methods to  improve development efficiency and a 'build products in half the time'  mentality. In addition, the position requires excellent written and verbal  communication skills that will be utilized for cross-site collaboration and  also for customer engagements.  On the technical front, expertise  in the digital communications application space at the systems level in  addition to having the skills required to implement the various functions in  these systems is required. The successful candidate will have a proven track  record of delivering state-of-the-art ASIC and/or FPGA solutions to the  wireless market. This job opening presents an opportunity to work with best-in-class  configurable silicon, software and IP products to help build the next  generation global communication infrastructure   Job Requirements:               10+ years experience       designing digital communication systems (examples would include 3G       Wireless, 3G LTE, MODEM, adaptive systems, synchronization, control       systems, FEC, OFDM, MIMO, space-time coding, spatial multiplexing, digital       IF processing, crest factor reduction, digital pre-distortion, microwave       backhaul). State-of-the-art EDA       practices including system verilog, OVM and assertion based test. 6+ years designing and       implementing FPGA-based signal processing systems. Excellent written and       verbal communication skills. Theoretical and       practical knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP), including digital       filters, FFTs, FEC (Turbo codes, LDPC), fixed-point implementation of DSP       data paths, digital communications. Fluent in C/C++ and       Matlab and Simulink, hands-on experience in fixed-point C/C++ is       desirable. Specify, design and       verify complex core modules (math cores, DSP cores plus other complex       cores) using VHDL, Verilog and System Verilog. Specify, design, and       verify supporting reference designs for the complex core modules. Create support       documentation (data sheets, user guides, application notes, etc.) for the       cores products.Assist software       engineering (or other dependent organizations) during integration phase of       projects, i.e. integration testing and/or software flow testing.Assist engineering       management and marketing to specify future core products and future       product enhancements.   Education/Experience PhD or MSEE preferred System level design experience with DSP, communications
