(YES/NO) JOB Description: Description The person in this position will develop designs, detailed specifications, and documentation for buildings Local Area Networks. The candidate should be able to solution new network topologies within a single building, within campus and datacenter LAN environments. The candidate will document network designs and support the implementation of any LAN /WAN infrastructures. The candidate must have strong hands on experience with Cisco IOS, Cisco hardware, IP Routing and Switching. Additionally the candidate will have DNS, working understanding of Datacenter LAN /WAN environments. The candidate must have strong working knowledge and experience with: TCP/IP, Cisco IOS, Ethernet switching, BGP, EIGRP, some MPLS VPN technologies. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills and outstanding problem solving ability. The candidate has to be task oriented, manage multiple projects concurrently and maintain a focus on results while thinking like a customer. Experience with financial services is a plus. Experience Required Expert level knowledge in IP networking and IP Application protocols. Expert understanding of building backbone, distribution and access-layer topologies. Advanced knowledge of the following protocols: 802.1d/w spanning tree, 802.1p/q VLANs, QoS, Port-Channeling, TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, HSRP and SNMP. Worked with Cisco Wireless LAN controllers, 4xxx Worked with Wireless APs, autonomous or LWAP mode. Advanced experience with Cisco 35xx, 6500 switches along with Cisco 38xx, router platforms. Knowledge of MPLS VPN Strong T1, DS3 technologies, inters building fiber MM, SM. Strong proven experience in network engineering and development. Skill in verbal and written communication to analyze, interpret and address customer needs. Strong interpersonal skills, oral communication skills, and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong experience with developing complex network design documents and presentations (PowerPoint and Visio). Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Experience working with a geographically dispersed multicultural team. Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. A clear ability to articulate technical detail to a non technical audience. Ability to work with minimal guidance or supervision in a time critical environment. Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to changing business needs and processes. Highly self motivated, self directed and attentive to detail. Qualifications Education 5+ years previous experience in a Routing & Switching engineering (Design/Implementation) related environment. Experience in Banking /trading environment.
