Job Description
Profiles with Sys admin background: This candidate primarily adds value with his/her production experience and insights in consulting, designing and implementing Enterprise UNIX Server technologies. The andidates should have worked on Enterprise Unix systems/ technologies with roles involving planning, design & implementation of AIX / Unix, Micropartitions, Virtual I/O server (VIOS) and High Availability (e.g., HACMP). Experience working on performance tuning, troubleshooting production issues involving
multi-tier architecture solution is desired. This role differs from a regular system administration role with its involvement in understanding, designing, and and implementing insights on current and new technologies on enterprise Unix platform and driving its adoption to end users. The candidate is expected to have minimum 5-6 years relevant experience on the above mentioned technologies. Prior experience on these technologies on IBM Power Systems will be an added advantage.
Profiles with Enterprise Unix Development background: In-depth knowledge in enterprise unix platforms (such as AIX, Solaris, HP- UX), by architecting / designing, coding, in various areas/subsystems such as Kernel, Device Drivers, and user space commands. Candidates should have performed technical roles working with customers directly in understanding requirements, troubleshooting complex customer problems and performance tuning. Exposure to code development involving virtualization on above mentioned
enterprise Unix platforms will be an added advantage. Candidates who want to work on customer facing roles involving architecting, solutioning, and hands on troubleshooting complex multi-tier architecture solutions on enterprise Unix platforms will an be ideal fit for this role. The candidate is expected to have minimum 5-6 years relevant experience on the above mentioned technologies. Prior development experience on IBM AIX platform on these technologies will be an added advantage.
Required Skills - Technical and Non Technical
1.Strong understanding of Unix Enterprise Server Architecture, Unix Operating System and Virtualization Technologies associated with it.
2."Advanced System Analyst Background: Prior experience planning and implementing Micropartitions, Virtual I/O server (VIOS), HACMP (PowerHA), AIX Performance Tuning, Server Administration and Troubleshooting
Unix Development Background: Prior experience coding and developing features in Unix Kernel,
Device Drivers, User commands on Enterprise Unix Technologies (such as AIX, HP-UX, Solaris)"
3."Advanced System Analyst Background: Experience working on server consolidation, virtualization projects on Power Systems/pSeries technology involving Micropartition, Virtual I/O server Unix Development Background: Product development experience working with virtualization technologies on Enterprise Unix platform "
4.Customer facing experience, technical articulation, design, architecture creation, documentation and presentation skills.
5.Ability to fast rampup on new technolgies, relate them to customer requirements, propose solutions that address pain points and implement them.
6.Experience performing server health assessments, architecture assessments would be an added advantage.
