Roles & Responsibility:
Position: Technical Leader – Testing
Experience: 5+ years
Location: Gurgaon
Work Location: Australia (Long term onsite)
Knowledge / Experience Required:
• Testing Experience in IP Core domain
• Technologies –
o Protocols – OSPF, BGP, IS_IS, RIP etc || CISCO/Juniper
o Opticals – DWDM, Metro-Ethernet
Roles & Responsibility:
• Analyze and report on faults found.
• Assist other testers in fault diagnosis and issues with testing.
• Understands the purpose, operation and quality requirements for the testing processes and procedures they are involved in executing and those of the items under test
• Work with the Project Manager to ensure that all technical issues are understood, raised and resolved.
• Raise defects using the Telstra preferred test management tool, ensuring sufficient evidence of a defect is recorded to enable recreation and investigation of the incident.
• Assist in the resolution of faults by working with appropriate product leads and Service Provider leads.
• Providing additional test runs and data when requested
• Ability to identify areas that will benefit from test automation
• Provide a measurable increase to the amount of automation.
• Test reporting of test results and risks associated with testing not achieved (for whatever reason)
Skills Required:
• Experience in each stage of Testing Lifecycle -- Test Strategy, test Planning, test Execution and Reporting
• Working Knowledge on following equipments: Core Network: Cisco CRS-1; Edge Network: Tellabs 8840/8860, Juniper ERX1440, T640/M320,
• Working knowledge on Layer2/Layer3 Technologies: VLAN, Spanning Tree Protocol, RSTP, MSTP, 802.1d, ISL.
• Hands-on testing experience Cisco switches and Routers
Education Details:
• BE/BTECH in Electronics & Communication.
Technologies housed at client place:
Core Network
• Cisco CRS-1 - continuous system operation, self-healing, scaling capacity up to 92 Tbps.
Edge
• Tellabs 8840/8860 - blends legacy and new data service and businesses share information regardless of network type.
• Juniper ERX 1440 – router broadband subscriber management services.
• Juniper T640/ M320 – Layer 3 Provider Edge Router used as the gateway between Telstra’s network and business customers.
Aggregation Network
• Alcatel 7450 - High-density service-aware Ethernet aggregation over IP/MPLS-based network delivering multi-gigabit and 10 gigabit ethernet to enable Quality of Service.
• Alcatel 7750 – services to broadband customers, prioritizing voice & video traffic.
Transport Network
• Alcatel 1626 Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) – will be used for optical transport from aggregations to the service edge.
Access Network
• Alcatel 7302 Intelligent Service Access Multiplexer – the industry’s first high bandwidth IP access platform, delivering reliable and secure next-generation IP-based broadband access infrastructure.
Voice
• Alcatel 5020 Soft switch – Hardware independent; component flexibility across the network.
Wireless
• Ericsson 3G850 Node B – 3G transmission hub for connectivity to terrestrial systems.
Network Servers
• Sun Microsystems Sunfire Servers – Element Management Systems.
• Hewlett Packard Servers – Operational Systems.
Technician Workstations
• Sun Microsystem SunRay Thin Clients – collaborative work sharing capability for remote working.
Partner & Display Panels
• Samsung – Plasma screens for content or information displays.
