Power System Consultant

Job Location: Bangalore / Chennai.
Job role: Architect / Consultant.

Job description:

• As Power System consultant, this person will be primarily be responsible to enable/implement niche and advanced technologies on IBM Power Systems/pSeries servers involving AIX. In this role, the consultant will engage in various activities such as Performance Analysis and Tuning, Architecture Assessment, Design and Implementation involving IBM Power Systems/pSeries servers including complex and advanced system configurations. This role requires excellent understanding of Server design, Unix/AIX Internals, with knowledge and experience to relate end user production configurations to system design/implementation aspects.

• Total 3 to 14+ years of work experience required

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of System x Architecture and niche/advanced features

• Prior experience with server consolidation using virtualization on IBM System X (Intel/AMD) servers
• Sound understanding of how current-age virtualization tools/technology works internally
• Must have worked on atleast one virtualization project involving most of the activities as defined in the description and must have exceptional understanding of virtualization
• Breadth of experience involving development and customer facing roles. Experience performing product development and support/end-user implementation roles would be good example for this requirement
• Experience performing server health assessments, architecture assessments would be added advantage
