Job description:
Position title: Sr. Network Engineer
• Network Engineering Primary Responsibilities The Sr. Network Engineer helps to design, implement and support Client's Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, Internet and remote access systems and authentication platforms. This position requires regular participation in Service Operations Support and support of day-to-day activities and troubleshooting.
• Additional assignments may include the evaluation, testing and implementation of network technologies that enhance performance, security, functionality, monitoring and manageability of the corporate network and its resources.
• In addition, support (maintenance and/or troubleshooting) of these technologies will be required. Implementation and support of Internet security based tools, practices and policies. Provide secure network technology solutions to all facets of the business.
• Must possess an understanding of TCP/IP, routing, access control lists, security, firewalls and network traffic analysis.
• In addition, must be Internet savvy with regards to security, DNS, SMTP and Virtual Private Networks.
• Basic management and configuration of Cisco and Foundry routers, Cisco and Foundry Ethernet switches.
• PIX and Checkpoint Firewall management, Remote Access servers, RIP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, NAT, Layer 2 and Layer 3 VLANs, Fast/Gig Etherchannel, L4 Load Balancers (Citrix Netscalers and Cisco CSM), Wireless Access Points, ZebraOS, VTUN Knowledge of Wide Area Network Telecommunications and MPLS is a plus.
• Network Applications: Proxy Servers and Clients, Firewalls, FTP & Anonymous FTP, PPP, BootP/TFTP, Bind, DNS, NTP, NNTP. Cisco Works for Switched Internetnetworks, MRTG Understanding of authentication services such as Cisco Secure, Tacacs+ , Radius, and Secure ID is a plus.
• Must be self-motivated with strong sense of ownership
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills.
Qualifications - BS in Engineering field - Computer Science, Computer Engineering or comparable experience
Experience - Minimum of 7-9 years network engineering experience.
