Position: QA Engineer
Avaya Data Solutions is seeking enthusiastic, innovative and self-motivated engineers to design, implement and verify best in class solutions for Avaya"s next generation Enterprise Network Solutions. The successful candidate will join our quality assurance team as verification engineer and will be responsible for developing, executing and automating feature and system test cases for layer2/3 protocols and deliver a defect free product.
Job Responsibilities:
 Design, develop and execute verification test plans to ensure features delivered
meet quality and schedule targets.
 Debugging and/or trouble-shooting test failures.
 Automate test cases for reuse on multiple streams.
 Verify the bug fixes and execution of regression tests.
 Work with test management systems for documenting test case results and tools
for reporting bugs found.
 Ability to work as team with guidance from lead engineer.
Required Skills:
 Strong data networking concepts.
 Knowledge of L2 protocols (STP/MSTP/RSTP, 802.1q/ad/aq, 802.3ah, 802.1ag/Y.1731
(Ethernet OAM/CFM))
 Knowledge of Layer-3 Protocols - IPv4/IPv6, OSPFv2/v3, IS-IS, BGP4, IGMP, PIM-SM/SSM
 Knowledge of product verification methodologies and strategies.
 Experience in QoS and HA testing
 Experience in working with test tools like Ixia, Smartbits, STC and packet sniffers.
 Experience in scripting languages like Perl, Tcl - Tk and expect
 Experience with Rational ClearQuest or other bug tracking tools
 Experience in test case management tools like Quality Center
 Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly Desirable:
 Prior experience in dealing with field issues
 Customer facing experience in key product deliverables
 Experience with successful multi-site development projects
 Ability to mentor and guide the new grads, freshers in the team
Required Qualifications/Experience:
 Minimum of B.E/B.Tech or equivalent in CS/ECE/TCE/EEE
 2-8 years of relevant industry experience in Telecom/Data Networking
