Senior Manager / Manager, NW Architecture & Technology Development

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the overall network architecture and technology (roadmap) planning for Nucleus Connect Active Networks 
  
• Manage the design and architecture of emerging technologies such as Fibre Broadband Technologies, Clouding Computing, IPv6 evolution and Next Generation Internet Services
• Expected to read broadly and always keep up-to-date on areas including Industry News, latest technology and gadgets, applications and services
• Responsible for leading a team of engineers to perform engineering design and architecture of new products and services in Next Generation IP Converged Services portfolio.
• The team will also perform technology research, conduct technology field trial and vendor evaluations
• Manage the Inter-Operability Test (IOT) Lab for testing new Product and Services
• Ability to identify and anticipate future needs and business opportunities
• Also responsible for managing a team of OA LAN Engineers who runs the Enterprise Office Automation LAN (i.e. Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and Networking)
• The LAN infrastructure include Email Servers, Print Server, Network Domain Administration and In-House PeopleSoft Systems
• Maintain strategic relationships with peers in the vendor, partner and industry standards communities
• Responsible for creating new policy guidelines for proper network utilization as well as providing and exploring, new innovative solutions to best support the company products and services
• Leadership objectives include developing a "customer-centric" business environment, facilitating a philosophy of constant improvement both in service delivery and staff skills; enhancing staff coordination and interaction with other units within the company; participating in management meetings and major department decisions; and fostering collaborative teamwork, responsibility and accountability within the staff
• The applicant is expected to emphasize a facilitation model of leadership, where decision-making and accountability at the level where the work is done is encouraged, the development of a service culture and team performance is rewarded, and where integration of different IP services (i.e. voice, video and data) operations must be accomplished
• Network and Infrastructure technical personnel are increasingly required to become generalists who step outside of traditional, narrowly defined job descriptions in support of team and institutional objectives. The incumbent must facilitate the development of effective technical and people skills that will enable the staff to assume new responsibilities, and to keep pace with and anticipate the changing nature of voice, data and wireless services

Requirements:

• Possess a Bachelor Degree in Electronic / Computer Science / Information Technology
• Possess any of the technical skills like IP Networking, ADSL/Cable Modem Broadband, Cloud Services, Internet Exchange, Mobile Backhaul and Wireless Broadband;
• Minimum 6 to 8 years experience in IP Network, Fixed Broadband Network and/ or Application servers, IP and client-server applications
• Leadership and Managerial experience that foster cooperation and initiative to meet organizational goals, integrate Customer priorities within the Division operational practices, and obtain the collaboration of employees from other divisions in meeting these goals
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to develop project plans and reports, proposals, information pieces, standards updates, operations and maintenance procedures
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as a member and/or leader of groups
• Demonstrated detailed knowledge of telecommunications/networking terminology, equipment and applications
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to solicit pertinent information, research multiple sources and distill large amounts of information to develop effective and creative solutions
• Ability to state ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Good interpersonal and communication skills as well as to interface well with senior management and vendors
• Knowledge on FTTx Network and the associated Quality Of Service (QOS) is an added advantage
