PR Consultant
You are a proactive publicist who offer our eclectic mix of clients ongoing media counsel and PR strategies (online and offline) that deliver measurable results. In your illustrious media career, you have built up your media network across key industries and have demonstrated your ability for independent client contact by having a solid understanding of the clients' industry, requirements and organisation. You are creative in approaching the media, proposing tailored publicity campaigns that use an optimum mix of traditional, social and networking media. A hands-on person, you manage these campaigns from planning through to execution and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, propose and drive integrated PR strategies with traditional and digital tools based on client requirements
- Build and manage media relations, field media enquiries and requests
- Conceptualise messaging and positioning
- Recommend and develop compelling media angles and pitch effectively to journalists and bloggers to secure media interviews, product reviews, speaking opportunities, and other forms of coverage
- Deliver impactful press releases, media advisories, featured articles, editorials, bylines, case studies, whitepapers, executive bios, etc.
- Conduct media training sessions and develop briefing documents, Q&As to position management spokespersons for media interviews
- Develop and disseminate press kits, advisories, announcements, etc.
- Create, run and maintain blogger outreach programmes that boost clients’ presence on social network sites/forums/discussion groups
- Devise methods for the creation of compelling and relevant social media content
- Develop, maintain & execute communications calendar, messaging and postings on social media platforms - Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, blogs, etc – that drive engagement of clients’ brands
- Identify relevant platforms to conduct media seeding and manage the outreach thereafter
- Plan and manage media events, including press invitation, onsite coordination and event coverage
- Degree in Public Relations or Mass Communications
- Minimum 5 years of experience from a digital PR agency background, 3 of which are in a managerial capacity
- Possess strong network of journalists and bloggers across 1st tier, trade and business press that you can readily reach out to raise clients’ profiles
- Fortéin pitching to the press, with proven track record of garnering coverage and publicity across traditional and digital media for your clients
- Working knowledge of all media vehicles, including broadcast, print, web, blogging, wiki’s, virals, social networking groups and leverage them effectively to build visibility for our clients
- Ability to respond to clients’ needs within a short turnaround time
- Excellent writing and content development skills
