Skill Requirements for Engineers: Desktops, Portable and Workstation Systems

1. Bachelor degree on computer related with M.C.P. (Microsoft Certified Professional in Windows 2000/XP/Vista) and minimum of 1 year experience working with Intel/AMD PC products and associated peripherals

OR

Diploma in computer related with M.C.P. (Microsoft Certified Professional in Windows 2000/XP/Vista) and minimum of 3 years experience working with Intel/AMD PC products and associated peripherals.

2. Experienced with and capable of hardware installation. This would include support and functionality of Network Interface cards, removable media devices (typically SCSI/IDE/SATA) such as Blue-ray drive, DVDROM drive, CDROM drive, Tape Backup Units, RAID setup on PC and other peripherals.

3. Experienced with and capable of hardware and software troubleshooting. Prefer a minimum of 2 years field experience especially in servicing notebook of any brands, or formally trained through an accredited technical school, or equivalent training provided by a service company.

4. Able to troubleshoot, diagnose and determine the types of hardware or software failures on PC/notebook systems.

5. Familiar with PCMCIA, SCSI, PCI, AGP, PCI Express, Express Card, Mini Card configuration and troubleshooting.

6. Working knowledge of MS-DOS, Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Linux. Optional for UNIX and other operating systems.

Designation: Field Service Engineers for DELL systems.

Salary: Around ` 10,000/- pm.

Job description:


1 Provide Technical Support for a client, who is a Leader in Back up and Recovery Solutions for their Global Enterprise customers in a 24X7 environment
2 The Backup and Recovery application will be installed either on Windows /Linux/Unix servers ( You will be responsible for Application level issues)
3 You will be responsible to provide Enterprise technical support for Installation, Configuration and Administration related issues
4 The Job involves resolving cases 95%, and escalate cases which are complex in nature, which come to support through Phone, Chat, and Email
5 Excellent Troubleshooting, and Customer handling skills are paramount, as you will be working with customers who are in a corporate and Small medium business environment
6 Ability to collaborate, and troubleshoot in a Linear and logical way, adhering to the Process SLAs
7 Good working knowledge of VM set up, and deployment
8 You would be interacting with IT administrators of client organizations in majority of the cases who would have performed basic trouble shooting tasks before reaching out.
9 An average customer case would take 7 days to close , would involve some back end research and 2-3 interactions with the customer.
10 Providing Support on licensing issues which are non-technical in nature.
